GEICO has plenty of eco-friendly initiatives that should be lauded. One of the most innovative is the GEICO Auto Repair Xpress® program. This program requires that selected auto repair shops used to service GEICO-insured auto owners pass an environmental and safety training. Bill Mayer, AVP of Claims at GEICO says, "We want our repair shops to have a clear awareness of the responsibilities required in handling the paints, antifreeze and other chemicals needed for vehicle repair." The Coordinated Committee on Auto Repair (an office of the EPA) says that GEICO is "a true steward of the environment."
