This car club goes heads and shoulders about its 79 other car club siblings in the AAA system. This organization supports research and initiatives in California to get hybrid and fuel efficient technologies to the masses. Oh yeah, they also offer hybrid discounts.

Serving Northern California, Utah and Nevada this AAA has the right idea when it comes to climate change. CSAA is making huge strides to promote eco-smart driving in California. Its Greenlight Initivative strives to "promote the development and understanding of alternative fuels and fuel-related technologies." Some of the initiative's tactics include research grants in California's state universities, sponsoring hybrid month in California, showcasing fuel-efficient cars at local auto shows, and many other activities.

CSAA itself is rather green. In 2007 the group replaced its entire fleet of vehicles with hybrids models. Switching to hybrids had an immediate effect on the company's fuel consumption. They report an annual saving of 115,000 gallons of gasoline use which translates into 1,314 tons less of CO2 emissions. So what about the rest of the carbon emissions?
